Autumn is on its way

Can't believe how long its been since last post.
We held our Open Day and of course it had to be the worst weather ever seen, thanks to all of you who braved the day, we had a great time and a laugh so who cares about the weather.
How exciting has the Olympics been, lovely to wake each morning to happy news and Headlines, it must make everyone feel better. Our equestrian teams certainly excelled its a shame they don't get the same attention as some of the other sportsmen and women. Now we are back to doom and gloom everywhere, lets hope the Paralympics are as good, will certainly make us realise we shouldn't moan about things when seeing how the competitiors all cope with their disabilities.
Since the last post we've had 2 more foals, Marvel was born on 16th July, a lovely colt out of Poppy at TB x mare, and then the gorgeous Jessie had the most stunning colt Meeko, he was sold as soon as he hit the ground. Katie who has a retirement livery here has bought him, and he will be staying here so going to be lovely watching him grow up. Still have Midnight hanging on in, she is huge, can't be much longer I hope. We have 6 foals still to sell, Marvel, Matilda, Minnie, Milo, Marley and Martha. Have had a few enquiries so see what happens, don't really want to be left with too many to get through winter, we are trying to cut back on mares anyway and just have the Tb x types, so do have some broodmares to sell if anyone looking for any. :)
All the puppies have gone to new homes now, hopefully all settled in and behaving themselves.
There seems to be a lot of hay about and at far more sensible prices than the last few years thank goodness, so should keep feed costs down a bit this winter.
On a personal front my eldest Son got married last Saturday, so I did a lot of proud Mummy crying, and actually got to dress up for change. Was a wonderful day seeing all our Children and Grandchildren dressed to the nines as Pageboys and Bridesmaid. Made a change from being on farm all day!!
So here we are heading into Autumn, lets hope we get an Indian summer as certainly need some good weather to end the year.
So if any of you looking to buy a nice coloured baby come and see us. Some of last years have been doing very well in the Showring in last few weeks, so lovely to see, makes us very proud and makes it all worthwhile....
